MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE:

College Prescreen Preparation & Filming

2022 Session is Now FULL/CLOSED!

Open to high school students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year, this two-week program is designed to prepare participants for applicant auditions into university musical theatre programs. Campers will follow a rigorous course schedule of song and monologue coaching, daily private voice lessons, dance, and acting. Additionally, students entering their senior year will have the option to film their required audition media on site, meeting all requirements of the Musical Theater Common Prescreen (MTCP). The program will culminate in a showcase of work for parents and friends. The MT College Prep Intensive is led by Stephen Agosto, Senior Manager of Artistic Engagement at the Tony-Award winning Paper Mill Playhouse, who drafted the nationally recognized MTCP criteria in 2018.

2022 Program dates:  

July 25, 2022 - August 8, 2022

Cost: 

• $3000 - Program without Prescreen Filming
• $3400 - Program with Prescreen Filming (Open to Incoming Seniors)

Schedule:

Morning:

Acting, Improv, and Dance Classes

Afternoon:

Private Voice, Monologue Coachings, Musical Theatre Performance

& Recreational Activities

Evening:

Showcase Rehearsals

Social Activities 

Admission and Audition Process:

1. Register and submit $75 non-refundable Application fee HERE. 
2. Submit fill out the Musical Theater Questionnaire  HERE along with one vocal selection (60-90 seconds) that shows off range and a one-minute monologue.
3. Submit headshot and resume to the NEMC Registrar at
4. All materials will be forwarded to Faculty for review. *Students may be asked to submit further material upon review. 
5. Students will begin to be notified of a decision on a rolling basis beginning April 1.
6. Once Admitted, submit $500 deposit to secure position.

 Students that are not offered a position may still apply for the NEMC Core Session.
